I need to write this for me. I am hoping that I will be able to get through a lot of the other blogs I have lined up to write, and quickly, so that this one will be buried underneath them all and I can move on. I’m struggling to write it to be honest, but I think it needs to be done

Robot Therapy – Summer Reading Challenge
Then I remember. I’m going to have to ask if someone will pass me those parts, and can someone fetch me this tool, and I know I know; it’s all moan, moan, moan; be thankful etc, and I am. I’m just frustrated. My life has led me to a point where my mind is still lit up like a firework show, but my body just will not comply. I’m exhausted, reliant, and I feel needy. What I really want to do is spring into action, and enact all of my crazy late night, neuron fired firework party ideas, into real, tangible, robotic genesis.
Filming & Interviews – Blyth Tall Ship
Recently we were lucky to find ourselves in a position where we were not only able to film the Blyth Tall Ship in port at Holyhead, but we were able to go on board (well Cerys did), and even interview one of the Skippers on camera. It all started when a friend of ours noticed…
SEAS Sailability
So if you view my YouTube channel, it won’t come as any surprise at all that I have been spending a bit of time out on the water here in North Wales recently; which is something I have been longing to do for so many years. I have rarely been out on the water in…
Filming the TSS Duke of Lancaster
Semi-recently, we had the idea that to make one of our YouTube channels a little more interesting, we must engage in more interviews. We have already been down to Aberystwyth to do interviews with researchers and lecturers there for our Bailey Robotics channel (yet to be launched properly), so why not with our other channel…
Aber Robotics & the ExoMars Rover
So after our last visit to Aberystwyth University for Beachlab:relocated in 2021, we have been itching to go back and visit the amazing projects being worked on at the computer science department. In particular I was extremely keen to see the Mars Lab, and their iCub. We requested permission to go back down to visit…
Filming North Wales Fire & Rescue Service
While travelling to Holyhead recently to do some filming, we happened upon a large amount of blue flashing lights on the Holyhead Breakwater. This naturally piqued our interest enough to go and have a look. It was quite cold, and a little windy, and we were not planning for a drone flight at that time,…
Soldier’s Point House By Drone
Recently I wrote a blog, and produced a video for YouTube, about a DJI Inspire 1 I had bought and repaired. It’s a fantastic piece of equipment that has given me back those incredible feelings of flying, and of being a pilot again. Both are things I love, and dearly miss, so I’m thrilled to…
The Wheelchair Effect
Disability. No one chooses it. No one finds it easy. These are all obvious things, and yet I have had such issues with it, that it can often consume days trying to work out where I went wrong, and how and when I might fix it. I have not adjusted to it in any real sense of the word.
BeachLab:relocated 2021
On the 19th of June 2021, we visited Aberystwyth University to take part in their brilliant BeachLab:relocated robotics event. BeachLab is a fantastic event that is usually held at the Bandstand building on the promenade/seafront in Aberystwyth. It’s a venue that enjoys quite a lot of footfall/traffic from people out and about on a sunny June day, and it offers plenty of chance to engage and speak to the public.
