Music has been a part of my life for a long time and no doubt will be forever.
Starting at high school I was lucky enough to find myself in the ‘house/form’ that was run by the music teacher and so my form room was also the music room. I was also lucky enough to have grown up around music and musicians at home. On my first day at 11 years old in high school, the whole class were asked if anyone wanted to learn to play drums/percussion.
A local music school was offering drum tuition to any new student at our school who could pass their audition. My hand shot straight up and upon attending my audition, I was pleased to find I had rhythm. I won the audition and was offered a place to receive professional drum tuition shortly after.
Since that audition at 11 years old, I have never stopped playing. I have played for a sixth form band (while still in the first year), and took part in school productions as well as the music school’s orchestra. I have played for local bands (covers and originals) in every place I’ve lived, and I’ve gigged all over the country as well as having played on TV, recorded studio albums, played at and organised numerous jam sessions and open mic events and I last played with a North Wales cover band called Supa Nova.
I also on occasion play guitar and I have been known to write/compose music and mix tracks (DJ) using either traditional turntables and vinyl, or digitally through Traktor/Cross
As a musician I use ‘Emmetelle’; a contraction of my forenames, and you can find my main musical website here: www.emmetelle.com
