I was recently fortunate enough to be able to put my first ever music composition onto an album among 18 others musicians. The album ‘Only Human – Volume 2’, has been put together by the group, Only Human.
Just four days ago, I had no idea this would happen. I was invited to a facebook group, populated by a lot of musicians who are into synth and modular music. A really friendly group of people.
They were putting together their album, to be released in just days. It was suggested by a friend and fellow composer that I should submit my track to see if I could be included in the release. I did immediately, and they were pleased enough with it to include it!
So within a matter of days, my first release has appeared on a compilation album. It all happened rather quickly.
We were also able to enjoy a preview of the the whole album with those who had contributed music via a FB live stream just before it was made public on Bandcamp. A great experience.
The album with 18 other artists (19 in total), is now on Bandcamp at the link below. Money raised from the sales will be donated to the charity CALM, which is the Campaign Against Living Miserably; an organisation working on suicide prevention. I’m happy I can contribute to that in some small way.
The album also features a couple of my old band family, who are writing in their own capacity as both 4th Eden and Marianne Holland. Both great musicians.
